It seems like 3D has become the hot new gimmick when it comes to films but what lots of the younger generations don’t realize is that 3D in movies has been around for decades. Seriously, for what you pay for two or three 3D movie tickets you could make a payment on your home alarm systems – well, depending on the rate, I suppose. Either way, the price is a little extreme and that’s why it pays to know the difference between 3D movies that are worth the price and those that aren’t.
One of the best ways to figure this out is to read a review. Often times the reviewers can give you an idea of what you are in for and, believe it or not, there is a difference between good 3D and gimmicky.
Good 3D is the kind that enhances the story by really reaching out to you and immersing you in the world. We are talking about 3D that makes the background and the characters really come to life. Not some gimmicky ball being “thrown straight at you” or a person pointing “in your face.” Knowing which films are worth the price of 3D and which ones aren’t will save you all the money in the world in the end.
